The branch was originally formed around 1996; the original group went by the name of The Yorkshire Bluenose Society. We used to meet in a pub in York once a month. Then, as friendships grew, we started car sharing and arranged golf days, etc.

As the group got bigger, there was a split to a more focused smaller group, which is where the West and South Yorks Blues came into being.

The group in its current existence has been going for around eight years. It is mainly run as a WhatsApp group of twenty-five people. There is a mixture of season ticket holders, casual attendees of six to ten matches per season, and then a few who will just go to the local games up North.
